The New Nerd Bird

As some of you may know I’ve been riding the bus into work most days. Today there was a new twist added to my bussin’ experience.

So I needed to get to work earlier today (cuz of some extra webpages that need some o’ dat sweeeet designin’) and I caught an earlier bus. Thing is, this bus is fancy and has Wi-Fi onboard, letting me get online whilst other losers are stuck driving in traffic. In the spirit of the “Nerd Bird” (the frequent Austin to San Jose plane carrying tech nerds back and forth between Silicon Hills and Silicon Valley in the late 90s), I think this mode of transportation needs a catchy, rhymey name too.

However, I’m drawing a blank, so help me out by coming up with some suggestions. Some starter words for ya:
Wagon, Ride, Wheels, Transport, Download, Dork, Tech, Laptop

Hook me up, smarties!

Congrats to the most recent winners… JohnnyMac, Juan Puto and BudCrud. The trophy case now reflects the the up-to-the-second standings (and has been pared down to show the top ten smartasse now). Check it out.

Damn it. I just through away the content of this post while trying to update.

Oops. I broke the Foolish Foto of the Week(ish) Trophy Case. I have a screen shot of the numbers, so it’s not a complete loss, but it’ll take a while to put it back together (no time right now). But the good news to take outta this is that the judges have been deliberating for what seems like months, and are ready to announce there winners. Now they are just waiting for the Trophy Case to be fixed.Soon.—TF

To all of my loyal readers… I apologize to BOTH of you for the dirty links that appeared in the RSS versions of three of the last four posts. Apparently there is some kind of hack that tacks on a ton of links to less-than-saintly sites to the end of my posts… but only when you look at it in RSS form. No clue how they got there, no clue if the preventative measures taken will do anything to stop it. I guess we’ll see with this post.

Also… sorry it took three days to fix this. …I had a lot of new sites brought to my attention recently that I felt compelled to go through.

ps - special shoutout to djLicious for pointing this out to me.
pps - make sure you keep your WordPress up to date. Seems to have fixed the glitch.

Slept late and didn’t get to ride the bus this morning. Oh well…. my record is one day in a row. Should be easy to break at least.

Today will be remembered as a turning point in the annals of Tom Fulery (that’s annals with two Ns, sicky). I’ve gone all green and started riding the city bus to work.

Gave it a shot and loved it. Besides giving me 7+ hours extra per week of non-cursing at other drivers shenanigans, I have found the perfect vehicle (pun sort of intended) for being more committed to this blog. How awesome is that? All for only $17 per month (also known as 1/3 tank of gas).Woot!Speaking of woot (and completely off-topic) I just bought an awesome shirt on shirt.woot.com. My Canadian buddies will get a kick out of it. Here’s what’s on the shirt i got… so fookin’ awesome, it hurts, eh?— TF

It’s been a while. I’ve been on “sabbatical” for the last two months, visiting foreign lands and staying away from computers… you should I try it sometime, it’s very liberating.Anyways, I’m back and will be revving up the ol’ blog again and will hopefully keep it regularly updated.Cheers,—TF

Some dead horses deserves further beating…

“I personally believe that the U.S. Americans are unable to do so because some people out there in our nation don’t have maps and I believe that our education like such as in South Africa and the Iraq everywhere such as and I believe that they should our education over here in the U.S. should help the U.S. or should help South Africa and should help the Iraq and the Asian countries to we will be able to build up our future for our children.”

The shame.

Sad Carolina

A fool am I. After years of using my cool FSACU action (Flatten/Select All/Copy/Undo) and it’s counterpart the FCU (after a specific selection… Flatten/Copy/Undo) both used to get a flat version of a multilayered Photoshop file to use in whatever way you want… I’ve recently found out that is already built in to Photoshop.

Duh.

D’oh.

Crap.

It’s Edit>Copy Merged (aka: Shift-Cmd-C)… damn, I thought I was “cool”. Replace the “c” with an “f” and we arrive at what I really am.
