To all of my loyal readers… I apologize to BOTH of you for the dirty links that appeared in the RSS versions of three of the last four posts. Apparently there is some kind of hack that tacks on a ton of links to less-than-saintly sites to the end of my posts… but only when you look at it in RSS form. No clue how they got there, no clue if the preventative measures taken will do anything to stop it. I guess we’ll see with this post.

Also… sorry it took three days to fix this. …I had a lot of new sites brought to my attention recently that I felt compelled to go through.

ps – special shoutout to djLicious for pointing this out to me.
pps – make sure you keep your WordPress up to date. Seems to have fixed the glitch.

Unique Photoshop feature: some tools can “toggle” uncontrollably.

After much frustration and hundreds of “throw away your preferences and restart the program moments” I finally found out what was going on with my Photoshop Phucking Phreaking out all the time.

Lemme back up and ’splain what the problem was. Ever since I switched to Leopard on my Macs, I’ve been pretty pleased (someday I’ll write that review I promised). I got used to the overly-subtle indicator under active applications in the dock… I’ve grown accustomed to the translucent menu bar (now something you can set since the most recent leopard update). I’ve even worked it into my workflow to use QuickLook to peruse images in a folder to see which one I really want to open. And yes, even the weird stacks thing has been accepted by me.

Leaving one BIG change to get used to… SPACES.

Using spaces requires a complete change in mindset when on your machine. Very daunting and quite the barrier to overcome, but I figured I’d better be a good lil’ Apple boy and give it a shot. Well… I loved it. Really, really loved it. It was like I had 6 (set your own number as you see fit) computers. Again, I loved it.

Until… (more…)

Slept late and didn’t get to ride the bus this morning. Oh well…. my record is one day in a row. Should be easy to break at least.

Today will be remembered as a turning point in the annals of Tom Fulery (that’s annals with two Ns, sicky). I’ve gone all green and started riding the city bus to work.

Gave it a shot and loved it. Besides giving me 7+ hours extra per week of non-cursing at other drivers shenanigans, I have found the perfect vehicle (pun sort of intended) for being more committed to this blog. How awesome is that? All for only $17 per month (also known as 1/3 tank of gas).Woot!Speaking of woot (and completely off-topic) I just bought an awesome shirt on shirt.woot.com. My Canadian buddies will get a kick out of it. Here’s what’s on the shirt i got… so fookin’ awesome, it hurts, eh?— TF

It’s been a while. I’ve been on “sabbatical” for the last two months, visiting foreign lands and staying away from computers… you should I try it sometime, it’s very liberating.Anyways, I’m back and will be revving up the ol’ blog again and will hopefully keep it regularly updated.Cheers,—TF

As always, there will be pissed off people wanting to know why other characters weren’t included. Marvel has thousands of characters, and these are ten of my favorites… classic enough to be known by many… had to sacrifice some newer cool folks, but thems are the breaks.—TF

Just like in the Marvel poll, there will be pissed off people wanting to know why other characters weren’t included. DC has tons of characters, and these are just ten of my favorites… classic enough to be known by many. I admittedly know little about the DC Universe and based my ten on a mix of a little comic book/graphic novel reading and a the rest on movies and TV shows/cartoons. Again, I’m sure I missed some newer, cooler cats, but that’s life.

Foto originally found all over the internet… seriously, if this is the first time you’ve seen this pic, you’re not that intimate with the ol’ interwebs are you?

I’ve made a new category in the blog called Fanboy, which includes Comics and Star Wars as sub-categories. The cat is officially out of the bag.

I’m sure to no one’s surprise, yours truly was a huge fanboy growing up. I started much later in the super-hero world than most fanboys and (mostly) gave it up later than most kids grow tired of it (but before reaching that fanboy point-of-no-return where you just say, “screw it… I’m an adult who loves me some funny books”).

Anyways, I just saw a featurette for the new Bryan Singer movie, Valkyrie and was reminded of the hollow experience that was X-Men: The Last Stand (a.k.a. X-Men 3… Bit o’ clarification: Bryan Singer had nothing to do with this flick, other than he was fired from it for agreeing to do Superman Returns). So seeing this got me all riled up (for the umpteenth time) and so I’ve decided to write about it.

What was:
The movie itself was not awful. It was good enough to get by and fine for a lot of the less discriminating types (kids, less-picky fanboys, effects-first fans), but to me (and many others), it felt like what I like to call a “First-draft Flick”.

The basic idea was there. The characters where there. The effects were there. What wasn’t there was what buddy of mine here at Continion calls the “spit and polish”. (more…)

I love College Football way more than any of these… but as far as pro sports goes… Here’s another ever-debated quest to find “The One”:

Which of these ten pro sports (in North America) is your favorite to watch?

As always, there will be pissed off people wanting to know why surfing, ultimate frisbie, rugby, and dodgeball aren’t in the poll… cuz there are only ten spots… and I had to weigh the options on which ten should be there. Feel free to Champion your unrepresented choice in the comments section.
